"What's Your Handicap?" Golf Classic Results
(Grand Rapids, MI) On Wednesday September 13, 2006 eighty-two individuals braved the rainy weather in support of Alternatives in Motion at the Second Annual “What’s Your Handicap?” Golf Classic.
This year’s event, held at Thousand Oaks Golf Club, was once again a huge success bringing in a total of $18,330 for Alternatives in Motion. Three new manual wheelchairs were also donated from local wheelchair vendors. Thank you to everyone who played in the tournament and to all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped make the day so successful. Special thanks goes out to MTG Mobility (www.mtgmobility.com) and Permobil (www.permobil.com) who served as our “Tuitel Sponsors.”
Johnnie Tuitel, Founder of Alternatives in Motion said, “It is great to see so many people coming out and supporting our organization.” Planning is already underway to make next year’s event even larger. The Third Annual “What’s Your Handicap?” Golf Classic will be held on August 14, 2007. “We are very excited to announce we will be returning to Thousand Oaks Golf Club again next year,” Tuitel said.
Alternatives in Motion is a local non profit 501 (C)(3) organization that purchases wheelchairs for individuals with no health insurance or other financial resources. Over the last 10 years Alternatives in Motion has raised over $1.3 million dollars and has placed approximately 650 wheelchairs to individuals throughout West Michigan and the United States.
